CHRISTSONG DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM

We have been praying about a way to follow up after our services. We are allowed to go to some of the prisons only once a year. We have our service, people make a decision to give their heart to the Lord; Then, they wake up the next morning in the same place and wonder what they need to do now? We encourage them to come to services, seek out their chaplains, find Brothers in Christ, join Bible Studies, etc.  But we have felt that we were leaving them hanging, so to speak.

God has answered our prayers! Through Gospel Express Prison Ministry, we have been provided with Bible Studies geared to inmates that they can complete through the mail. When they complete each study they will receive a reward. They can choose between a Study Bible, Bible Dictionary, a Book of God’s Promises or book of bible verses by subject. Child Evangelism Fellowship has provided us with Bible studies that the inmates can sign up for that would be sent to them AND their children at home so they can study God’s Word together! These have been given us to use in the prisons free of charge. This is an answered prayer. We can now leave them with an immediate “next step” to grow in Christ. Thank you Lord!

Also, due to budget cuts, the average ratio of inmates to Chaplains is 800 to 1. Our brothers and sisters in Christ inside need the fellowship and teaching of Godly men and women in the churches through the mail. We have started a program that matches saved inmates who request help, with volunteers in churches. If you feel God is leading you to serve in this way, please contact us and we will pair you with an inmate who is praying for someone to correspond with, to learn from and to pray with.
